Dr. Miguel Tavares Pereira, DVM, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Veterinary Anatomy, Vetsuisse Faculty Zurich, Switzerland. He earned his Master’s in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Portugal, and worked for a few years as a small animal practitioner. He joined Prof. Mariusz Kowalewski research group in 2016, where he completed his PhD focusing on canine corpus luteum function. Currently, his research centers on embryo-maternal communication in dogs, specifically focused on the decidualization process and local immune regulation.
