A large animal surgery specialist with research expertise in clinical epidemiology, gut microbiome and population genetics. I completed clinical training and a masters degree at Zagazig University, Egypt. This was followed by a PhD at the University of Liverpool, UK where I investigated epidemiology of outcomes following abdominal surgery in horses and the gut microbiome of healthy and horses that underwent abdomial surgey. I completed a postgraduate diploma in Veterinary Epidemiology at the RVC, UK in 2020, and conducted epidemiology studies spanning mulitple animal species. I joined deMestre lab, University of Cornell as a data analyst and bioinformatician in 2023.
