Dr. Daiana Fornes, PhD, is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Pediatrics at the Center for Excellence in Pulmonary Biology, Stanford University. She earned her MSc and PhD from the University of Buenos Aires. During her PhD, she researched metabolic alterations in offspring of rats with gestational diabetes and completed a postdoctoral fellowship studying paternal diabetes.
At Stanford University, her work focuses on the transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 channel (TRPV4) as a modulator of myometrial contraction to treat preterm labor and reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality. Dr. Fornes's research aims to improve neonatal health outcomes worldwide.
