Rui completed her MSc in Biomedical & Molecular Sciences Research at King’s College London before starting her PhD project under joint supervision with Prof Christer Hogstrand and Prof Robert Hindges. Her PhD aims to discover the role of ZIP9 as an androgen receptor and a zinc transporter using cells, zebrafish and mouse models. She is currently working with Dr Kim Jonas to discover the reproductive function of ZIP9 and its interactions with G proteins.
