My name is Nikoleta Nikou and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Genome Integrity and Instability Group, at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain. I hold an Integrated Master's Degree from the Department of Biological Applications and Technologies at the University of Ioannina. My Bachelor/Master's thesis was focused on studying the repair mechanisms of DNA double-strand breaks, in mouse oocytes. Subsequently, I completed two Erasmus+ Internships, the first at UAB and the second at University College of Cork (UCC), Ireland. Currently, my PhD research is focused on studying the mechanisms that regulate the ovarian reserve in adults.
