Dr. Miguel Angel Brieño-Enríquez is an assistant professor at Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI), University of Pittsburgh. He received his MD degree from the UASLP, México in 2004. He obtained his PhD from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2011, followed by a first postdoctoral training at CIB-CSIC, Madrid (2012-2014). He moved to USA for his second postdoc at Cornell University (2014-2018). Dr. Brieño-Enriquez started his independent faculty position at MWRI, University of Pittsburgh in 2019. At MWRI he is developing pioneer work on the naked mole-rat ovary to understand how this amazing creature is fertile for more than 3 decades.
