Kathryn Storey is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute (SNZCBI). She recently graduated with her PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri. As a predoctoral research fellow in Dr. Laura Schulz's laboratory, her dissertation research investigated the impact of high fat, high sugar feeding on the communication landscape between murine placenta and pancreatic beta cells throughout gestation. Her dissertation findings will be presented during her oral presentation. Kathryn joined Dr. Jennifer Nagashima's laboratory at SNZCBI in February 2024, and her current research focuses on follicular cell communication utilizing micro-fluidics and gamete rescue.
