I am Andrew C. Pearson, Ph.D., a recent graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) who is now working as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Magee Women's Research Institute (MWRI). At EVMS, under the mentorship of Diane M. Duffy, my dissertation research focused on the involvement of neurotensin in peri-ovulatory vascular changes in the ovarian follicle. I have recently begun studying ovarian aging at MWRI under Miguel A BrieƱo-Enriquez. Ultimately working towards novel ovarian rejuvination therapies, the naked mole-rat serves as a unique model organism due to their remarkable ability to maintain reproductive competance for more than 30 years.
