Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Cell & Developmental Biology
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States
Dr. Fu is a Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His research integrates micro/nanoengineering, single-cell technologies, and systems and synthetic biology methods with new discoveries of mechanobiology, epigenetics, and stem cell biology for advancing understanding of human development and disease. Dr. Fu's research has contributed significantly to the emerging field of stem cell-based embryo models (Nature Materials, 2017; Nature Communications, 2017; Nature, 2019). His lab has also successfully developed different stem cell-based human neurodevelopment models that mimic neural induction and axial patterning of the neural tube (Nature Materials, 2018; Science Advances, 2019; Nature, 2024).
