Inserm Principal Investigator

Dr Julie Cocquet is an Inserm principal investigator at Institut Cochin (Université Paris-Cité). After her PhD in 2006, she obtained an EMBO postdoc-fellowship to join Dr Burgoyne’s lab at NIMR-MRC London. There, she studied multicopy sex-chromosome genes during spermatogenesis, identifying the genetic basis for the intragenomic conflict between the mouse sex chromosomes.
In 2011, she received a Marie-Curie fellowship and became an Inserm PI at Institut Cochin. Her group researches focus on gene and chromatin regulation during spermatogenesis and on the sperm epigenome, to better comprehend the (epi)genetic causes of male infertility and their impact on embryo and progeny.
