Aurora Ruiz-Herrera is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Biosciences of Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Spain, where she leads the Genome Architecture and Evolution Group (https://webs.uab.cat/evolgenom/). She has more than 20 years of experience on the study of the structural, functional, and evolutionary aspects of genome organisation, paying special attention to the germ line. Her current research is focused on the study of the dynamics and function of the three-dimensional chromatin structure of germ cells by combining computational and experimental methods, and by studying the genomes of different vertebrate species
