Professor Anne Ferguson-Smith CBE FRS FMedSci
Department of Genetics, University of Cambirdge
Anne is a mammalian developmental geneticist and epigeneticist studying the epigenetic control of genome function and epigenetic inheritance. Research focuses on two areas: (i) Genomic imprinting and epigenetic mechanisms of parental-origin specific gene regulation; and the functions of imprinting. (ii) Epigenetic variation and its influence on phenotype; with current work deciphering genetic mechanisms causing epigenetic variation. Anne has just completed her term as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and International Partnerships) at the University of Cambridge. From July 1st she became Executive Chair of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
