Julia Tlapa is a first-year PhD student in the Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology Training Program at University of Wisconsin - Madison. At UW-Madison, she is studying the influence of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) on urinary tract function, with particular focus on the urethra. Before UW-Madison, she completed her B.A. in Biology and Anthropology at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, where she conducted an independent research project studying how in-vitro-fertilization (IVF) healthcare providers work to make IVF healthcare more inclusive and culturally sensitive. Julia is passionate about reproductive science and women's health, and hopes to work in this field in the future.
