Karolina has a master's degree in biology and is currently a third-year PhD l student. Research interests are related to determining the effects of adipokines on ovarian cells function with particular attention to such processes as steroidogenesis and in vitro oocyte maturation. She also focuses on describing the role of adipokines in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome. Her dissertation uses in vitro cultures of ovarian follicle cells from normal-weight Large White and fatty Meishan pigs to investigate the role of omentin in regulating ovarian function.
