Dr. Masahito Ikawa is a Distinguished Professor at the Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University. Dr. Ikawa's group has revolutionized mouse transgenesis and reproductive biology through the use of the CRISPR/Cas9 system, generating over 500 knockout mouse lines, identifying 78 genes essential for male fertility, and elucidating their molecular mechanisms. Dr. Ikawa has published over 370 research papers and was awarded the SSR Research Award in 2017.
