Graduate Research Assistant
University of Nebraska - Lincoln
Hello, my name is Caitlin Ross and I am currently a PhD Candidate within the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. My work at Nebraska utilizes our laboratory's transgenic swine line with ubiquitous knockdown (KD) of gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor II (GnRHR-II KD). More specifically, I have sought to elucidate how the interaction between GnRH-II and its receptor impact spermatogenesis, sperm function, and semen quality in boars. Additionally, my more recent studies have focused around understanding the role of GnRH-II and its receptor in steroidogenesis, follicular development, and ovulation of preovulatory follicles.
