Amanda A. Macias is a first-generation Ph.D. student and Biomedical & Biological Sciences Fellow at Cornell University. She is a Cornell University Graduate School Dean’s Scholar, 2023 NSF Graduate Research Fellow, and 2024 Burroughs Wellcome Fellow. Amanda's current graduate-level research focuses on bile acids and insulin regulation as direct factors in the maintenance of oocyte quality in mares. Amanda’s research training in reproductive biology began at California State University Long Beach with Dr. Kelly Young. During her undergraduate career, she was accepted into the Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) program and graduated with a B.S. in Molecular Cell Biology.
